So here is my basic premise. If I start out with just one dollar, can I make a million bucks from it?
My aim will be to do this in 10 years!!! It ight never happen and then again it might happen quicker. My goal will be to make $1,500 in my firt year from my $1. Then double (ish) my total every year for the following 9 years.
So it goes something like this
$1 to $1,500 to $3k to $7.5k to $15k to $30k to $60k to $125k to $250k to $500k and to one million.
So task one is to make $1,500 by the end of this year, starting out with just $1
So by any legal and ethical way, I will be charting my success and failure here. I will be using any and all of my artistic ability to make items to sell. I am actually a professional jeweller, so in due course, I shall turn my hand to making pieces of jewellery. So it will be a given that I have access to my tools and of course my current skillbase.
As this task progresses, I may move away from making things and start dealing in cars, shares, houses. In fact who knows where this little adventure will take me?
My first purchase will be a pencil and a piece of paper. OK, I already own these, but lets just go on the assumption that if i didn't own either, I would go out and spend a dollar to take ownership of both.
So my first attempt will be to draw a pencil portrait of a UK celebrity, and then sell the original online. Of course, once I have sold the original, I can continue to sell copies of the original for a lesser amount. I am not going to be greedy about profit on these, as it will all be about the return of cash on the original investment.
I think with the Football world cup in full flow, the best candidate will be one of the UK stars. Now my choice will actually be someone who, because of injury, isn't actually playing. He however has a massive fan base. He is of course David Beckham.
So check back here for progress on my pencil portrait of Beckham, how I go about selling it and of course, how much money I create to invest into my next project.....taking me from one dollar to a million.
